4th Grade Team Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Students with their projectsStudents in Ms. Kohler's, Ms. Nepstad's, and Ms. Marshall's fourth grade classes came together to celebrate all they had learned about the Day of the Dead during Hispanic Heritage Month. This is a time to recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the country's history, heritage, and culture. Day of the Dead is a day to celebrate and remember the passing of loved ones. The fourth grade students studied the holiday and what it means. Then they came together to make both masks and luminaries to represent the candles that are set out to honor those loved ones. The fourth graders loved learning about this special day and many students were happy to share their family traditions during this month.
